HIHI,

hey guess wat?? my version 2 has came out!!!
its much smaller in size. let me show u some pics of my macro ring light.
Let me tell u the specs.
Led bulbs has been reduced to 12 but still having the same brightness or maybe brighter.
Battery voltages has been reduced to 6 volts on realising the fact that the voltage does not affect the brightness. I used 4 AA batteries and it delivered the same brightness as before.

Technical specs of the ring light

As this is my first ring light, which is my prototype, it may look big sized and a bit ulgy. This are the technical specs of my ring light.

Length : 20 cm
Thickness : 4.5 cm
Battery used : 9volt battery
Light used : LED bulbs ( light emitting diode)
Amt of bulb : 24 LED bulb.

My next version of my ring light will definitely be smaller and more nice looking. Currently i am trying to reduce the amount of bulbs by increasing the number of batteries used as i am using only 1 now. The bulb life span may not last so long though.

Pls give suggestions for improvements on the design and the brightness. Thks
And pls give the suggestion on clubsnap photography forums. The thread url is : http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5074808#post5074808

This are pictures of a 1 dollar coin with my own made macro ring light on.

This is a picture of the same 1 dollar coin taken with flash on.

As I was testing it out in extreme conditions and my room was really dark ( no other light source other than the flash and the macro ring light), so i could not take a clear image of the coin using the same settings. My settings for the photos taken in the above is

Shutter speed : 1/40
Apperture : f/4.5
ISO : 3200

As mentioned, I am using a canon 500D, so I used it to take the shots. My photography skills may not be so professional, but what i am trying to point out is the usefulness of the ring light I have made. See the shadow in the 3rd photo when i used my flash, as compared to the photo taken with my ring light.

Hi,
I have created my first very own macro ring light. I am using a canon 500D and i love taking macro shots, but i do not have a proper ring light for taking macro shots in extreme light conditions.( In the dark) Using flash will not do a proper job as it will cause a shadow due to the macro lens, and buying a canon original ring light can be quite expensive, thus i made my own ring light I will upload the effects of this ring light on my next post.
